Research & Innovation

What We Bring to the Table

EosNova offers a rich living lab environment with 20+ buildings across residential, business, and office settings, where partners can access high-resolution data streams, test solutions in real living conditions, and work with an active local community ready to participate in pilots and co-creation. Our data platform (backed by tools like InfluxDB and Grafana) and our team’s extensive experience in European research projects make us a reliable partner for research and innovation solutions.

Our Multi-Context Living Lab

Our living lab in Ioannina, Greece, offers partners access to high-resolution data, diverse pilot sites across 20+ buildings (including short- and long-term rentals, businesses, and offices), and a team with extensive experience in EU research projects.

EosNova-Owned
9-apartment complex
This complex, located on the outskirts of the city, is fully owned and managed by EosNova, ensuring complete control over installations, long-term stability, and uninterrupted access for research activities.
  • 4 long-term residential units → continuous, stable data.
  • 5 short-term tourist units → dynamic, high-variability behaviour.
  • Photovoltaic installation → On-site renewable energy generation and storage, enabling additional research on production–consumption dynamics, self-consumption, and energy optimisation.
Extended network
Apart from our own apartments, we can also offer access to energy generation assets and an extended network of 10+ buildings with distinct load profiles in the city:
  • Existing operational 10 kWp PV installation.
  • Households.
  • Small Businesses.
  • Offices.
Sensors and data
Each unit is equipped with the following sensors, collecting data continuously:
  • Smart meters (aggregate energy, power, voltage, current, power factor, frequency).
  • Smart plugs (appliance-level energy, power, voltage, current).
  • Multisensors (temperature, humidity, illuminance, occupancy).
  • Mini-PC running Docker, enabling local processing and edge computing.
  • Data infrastructure: all sensor data are stored in InfluxDB for long-term time-series management and visualised through Grafana dashboards for monitoring, analysis, and research use.

More Than Infrastructure: Our People and Our Community

Our Living Lab is powered not only by technology but also by the expertise of our team and the commitment of our community. These are the assets that make innovation possible.
